We are delighted to announce that the practice is now a training practice. We provide medical training for Registrars who are fully qualified Doctors intending to enter General Practice. You may be offered a consultation with our GP registrar

Training Practice

The Reddish Family Practices have been approved as a Learning Environment.

Dr Saksena Joye is our approved general practice foundation trainer (FY1 and FY2).   An FY1 and FY2 is also a fully qualified doctor and can see patients independently; they will see fewer patients than a ST3 and have longer appointment times (approx. 30 minutes). The trainee is usually with the practice for four months.

Video Consultations

On occasion doctors and the trainees will need to do video consultations, video consent forms are available for the patient to sign and these can be found in the filing cabinets at reception at both sites.

Emergency Out of Hours

If during the above times when the surgery is CLOSED you require immediate medical attention that cannot wait until we are open please dial the practice number on 0161 983 9797 and you will be automatically diverted.  Alternatively you can dial 111 direct, this is a free service but you will require 1p credit if calling from a mobile phone (the 1p will not be taken)

Minor Ailments Scheme

The minor ailment scheme is designed to enable people with minor health conditions to access medicines and advice they would otherwise visit their doctor for.

It allows patients to see a qualified health professional at a convenient and accessible location within their community, and means patients do not need to wait for a GP appointment or queue up for a valuable A&E slot with a non-urgent condition.
